With AppointmentThing, you're able to accept payments from your appointment attendees when they book appointments with you. This can be useful in many different scenarios. For example, if you're a consultant, you may charge per consulting appointment, or if you're a barber, you may charge per hair cut, or if you're a doctor, you may charge per patient visit.
Many different industries and job roles charge for their expertise and time, and now you can accept payments right as your customers are booking appointments with you :)
When your customers pay you within the AppointmentThing appointment booking process, all steps of the payment process are handled by whichever of these two payment platforms you have connected with your AppointmentThing account. AppointmentThing offers a clean and intuitive front-end interface where your customers can make the payment, but the payment is actually received and processed by the integrated payment platform.
This makes the payment process extremely secure, since AppointmentThing does not store your customers' payment details, nor does AppointmentThing ever see or process the payment. This means that the transactions are solely between you and your appointment attendees, and all transactions are made through and contained within your own Stripe or PayPal account.
To accept payments from your appointment attendees, you will first need either a Stripe or PayPal account. If you don't already have a Stripe or PayPal account, you will need to create one.
Once you have a Stripe or PayPal account, you can connect it to your AppointmentThing account and start accepting payments from your appointment attendees! This section provides step-by-step guides for connecting your Stripe and/or PayPal accounts to AppointmentThing.
Once you've connected either your Stripe or PayPal account using the guides above, you'll be able to enable payments for your individual appointment types.
