Updates 🥳

We're in constant development, and that means lots of updates every month.

Scheduled Maintenance

Published Jan 21st, 2022 by   Sean

We wanted to make you aware that on Saturday, Jan 29th at 10pm PST, there will be scheduled maintenance of AddEvent services to update our underlying database systems. We’ve scheduled a 1 hour window to perform these tasks but anticipate actual downtime will be limited to less than 5 minutes.

During this maintenance window the team will be applying critical updates to our databases and you may experience degraded performance and potential connectivity issues. Normal operations will resume as soon as the updates are completed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. As always, if you have any questions or issues, please submit them at support@addevent.com.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

UPDATE

New Features

Published Jun 27th, 2021 by   Sean

  • We’re excited to announce the launch of our appointment scheduling API which adds lots of functionality to let you manage your appointments and availability. Feel free to check it out and please let us know if there is any functionality you would like to see added or improved!

Next up: Microsoft Teams meeting integration and Zapier integration.

  • We added a new General settings section to AppointmentThing so you can manage all of the important settings to do with your appointments in one place.

  • We’ve added a centralized Out of office feature that lets you block out time when you won’t be available to take appointments. Previously, you had to update each appointment type individually, so we think our new way is much better!
  • We added a limit to the maximum number of appointments that you can be scheduled for in one day.
That's  NEW !!

Fixes and improvements

Published Jun 27th, 2021 by   Sean

  • We reworked our availability checking to improve response times and make sure that we’re reading your calendar correctly. In addition, we've added a debug page for each calendar that enables you to compare how our system reads your calendar events. Very useful if you want to do a side-by-side comparison.
  • If your organization is sharing a Zoom account and multiple users have connected it to AppointmentThing, the previously added Zoom account lost the granted connection to Zoom. We’ve made a change to make sure that all Zoom instances are updated using the same account.
  • We made updates to the confirmation and reminder emails we’re sending out when users schedule an appointment. We’ve removed the AppointmentThing logo and did some general styling updates.
  • When users schedule an appointment, we automatically insert the appointment in the organizer’s connected calendar. We used to insert the event as HTML. That, however, didn’t look great when the calendar synced with other calendars, like Apple Calendar. We’ve changed how we insert events to TEXT and also trimmed the contents to look much better than before.
