How to add user licenses

This guide explains how to purchase additional user licenses for your AppointmentThing account. These licenses can be assigned to other account users within your account to give them full Premium or Pro functionality, depending on the license.


There are two places where you can add user licenses to your account. The two green bullet points below provide step-by-step guides on how to navigate to those locations and purchase additional user licenses.

  • From the Users Page
  1. Log in to your account on AppointmentThing.com
  2. Click the solid blue circle containing a white letter in the top right corner of the home page. This will cause a drop-down menu to appear with the options "Account", "Users", "Help" and "Log out"
  3. Click the 'Users' option on the drop-down menu to navigate to Users Page
  4. On the Users Page, click the green '+ Add more' button
  5. A white pop-up will appear. Select the number of licenses you would like to add. Note that additional user licenses will be added to your current subscription’s billing schedule, so you'll be charged a pro-rated amount on the day you purchase the licenses, and the full amount on the day your subscription (and the licenses) auto-renew
  6. Click the blue 'Confirm' button to purchase the licenses


  • From the Account Page:
  1. Log in to your account on AppointmentThing.com

  3. Click the 'Account' option on the drop-down menu to navigate to your AppointmentThing Account Page
  4. Scroll down to the "Membership & Billing" section at the bottom of the Account Page
  5. In the Membership & Billing section, click the 'Add User Licenses' link
  6. A white pop-up will appear. Select the number of licenses you would like to add. Note that additional user licenses will be added to your current subscription’s billing schedule, so you'll be charged a pro-rated amount on the day you purchase the licenses, and the full amount on the day your subscription (and the licenses) auto-renew
  7. Click the blue 'Confirm' button to purchase the licenses


You can see the total number of user licenses for your account in the Membership & Billing section on the Account Page, and you can see the total number of assigned and unassigned user licenses for your account at the top of the Users Page.

We've hit a plan limitation here. You are on the free Basic plan and that plan has limitations.

You can upgrade your plan to unlock more features.

Send your invitees a last-minute Text/SMS reminder about their appointment with you. It will increase attendence. Upgrade to Pro to unlock this feature.

The Text/SMS reminders input field automatically appear on the appointment booking page when you're on the Pro plan.

With your free Basic plan you can only have
1 active appointment type. Upgrade your plan to unlock unlimited appointment types.

Tip: If you are not ready to upgrade, you can deactivate other appointment types and then activate this one.

Licenses available It looks like your user profile hasn't been assigned a license yet. In the "Account" -> "Users" section you can adjust and assign licenses.


If you don't have permission to assign and manage licenses yourself then please get in touch with an account administrator.

We made AppointmentThing available to everyone on June 1st. Thanks so much for trying it out!

Prior to the launch, we were busy testing.. testing.. testing, correcting, then more testing.. testing.. testing and correcting.

Upcoming changes
Over the next couple of months, we’ll be gathering user feedback and (of course) be using the tools ourselves. Our testing and correcting will continue, and during this time we hope to learn a lot about the following:

  • What would be nice to have
  • What we need to improve right away
  • What needs a bit more explanation
  • Any issues or anything not working correctly

As a result, you’ll probably see us moving things around a bit: changing labels here and there, adding new functionality and options, updating tutorials, etc. It’s all part of the process.
